Sinead O’Connor is hoping to put the troubles of the last few years behind her with the release of a new single and album.

The new single, Take me to Church, has been released on Soundcloud to promote her new album, I’m not bossy, I’m the boss. Both single and album will be launched officially on 11 August.

Take me to Church suggests a new beginning for Sinead with lines like “I don’t want to be that girl no more” and “I don’t want to love that way”.

Instead, O’Connor tells us that she wants to sing “songs of living” and songs that “mend your broken bones”.

O’Connor has also come up with a new look for the album – black wig, black pvc and black electric guitar.
