Main Chord Shapes in Key of D Major
These pictures show how to play the common chords found in the key of D Major.
The white spot refers to the string and fret to be used. The numbers refer to the fingers to be used. A long white bar with a number 1 indicates that the first finger should be placed across two or more strings.
Number 1 is the index finger (next to the thumb), number 2 is the middle finger, number 3 is the ring finger and number 4 is the little finger. The red X shows strings that should not be played for that particular chord.
