Joby Fox is an Irish songwriter and acoustic guitar player.

He has been performing live and recording material either as a solo artist or as part of a band since 1979.

His most recent release is his 2011 album, End of War. Speaking about his passion for his music, Fox said: “I started in a punk band back in ‘79 and was always very interested in social political issues. I feel my role as an artist, is to help keep reflecting humanity by any medium possible.”

Joby says his influences include Bob Dylan, Tom Waites, Neil Young and Steve Earle.

Performances on Bleecker Street

In a music career that has spanned over 30 years, Joby has seen the world touring Ireland, England, Europe and America, including performances on Bleecker Street.

His first recording was way back in 1980 when he released the single On My Mind with his band the Bankrobbers.

Joby then formed the band Energy Orchard in the late eighties and had several releases including Sailortown in 1989 and King of Love in 1990.

He has most recently been performing in New York, Mexico, London and Palestine.
