Caitlin Grey is a British solo artist who is heavily inspired by Celtic traditional music and folklore. She has Irish and Welsh heritage and regularly performs in Wales and England.
She writes and performs folk songs and her sound is a fusion between traditional Celtic melodies and New age/ethereal music.
Although she is primarily a folk singer, she is influenced by music from any genre, as long as there is a beautiful melody. She says: “I love all kinds of music from blues to country to opera to traditional. I particularly like Karen Matheson from Capercaillie and I love Doris Day!”
She loves Irish music because of the style and the melodies. She said: “I like to keep the tradition alive in my lyrical content and melodies.”
Her songs are inspired by a range of subjects from myths and legends to real personal experiences. She also loves to sing the beautiful traditional songs from Ireland and the UK mainland.
In 2008, she released her debut album, Siren’s Song. It is available on iTunes and from her website www.caitlingrey.com
Her second album was released in Spring, 2013.
