The great Irish band Planxty were largely responsible for rediscovering Follow Me Up to Carlow in the 1970s and making it popular again.

Their recording is regarded by many as the definitive version and it certainly sets a high standard.

Jim McCann of The Dubliners also produced a fine version, accompanying himself on guitar.

That great Irish rebel band The Wolf Tones included Follow Me Up to Carlow on their album, 50 Great Songs and Ballads. Wonderful tin whistle.

Paddy Reilly, formerly of The Dubliners, produced recorded a version as a solo artist.
